Barry Arvin Young is a professional musician who has always made his living from the music he creates. Growing up in coastal New England in the United States, he was raised on American music on the radio and on records as a boy. He lived and worked on the road with traveling bands in his early years, growing, changing and adapting musical styles and genres along the way. Learning how to "read a room" became standard, and learning to give the audiences what they wanted became key to his success. Now he works alone with his voice, a piano and an ipad, using new technology to replace his need for a band. He continues to deliver what his audiences want and ask him for; to play the music they want to listen to, to enjoy over cocktails, to dance to. Barry is a career performing musician who has covered many genres of popular music over the years as a singer, pianist and guitarist. He has always adopted new technologies to enhance his musical performances and utilizes them to his audiences delight. Currently he travels with little more than his voice, a microphone, a piano and an ipad to supply the backing tracks to the music they would not normally hear, providing a much richer and familiar performance for his audience. His familiar easy listening music selections do the rest as he reads the room and engages the audience.
